New Addition!

...................................................................................................................................................................
Websites get a little stale if they're not overhauled periodically and for the past year we've been trying to decide what
to do with the SCO website. Should we continue as is, upgrade or cancel it completely.  If we cancelled it a lot of work
would obviously go down the drain. Since it was never intended to be about day-to-day life in Sheridan County, we
decided what was needed was a new perspective, a new look and a new voice. To help make the transition, Marilyn
Olson has agreed to lend her writing  talents and is now the new editor for both the websites and the magazine.
Here's her story.

Marilyn is married to native Montanan Scott Olson of Antelope, Montana and currently resides in
Bigfork.  They have three children; Trevor, Andrew and Chelsea Rose.  Their oldest, Trevor, is currently
serving in the United States Marine Corps and the two youngest are in high school.

Marilyn holds a degree in Human Services and is passionate about sharing ideas and writing about a variety
of topics; random things that come to mind, past times, sustainable living, frugality, and self sufficiency to
name a few.  She is a firm believer that her purpose in life is to share what she knows with others in an
effort to enrich their lives in one way or another; reflecting on topics she has personally experienced and/or
learned throughout her life and an effort to inspire, educate and inform others.

Marilyn looks forward to writing for Alternatives-Magazine and Sheridan County (Online) Times as our editor as well as working
on an exciting upcoming projects that will become available to Sheridan County residents in the near future.

My Journey to Becoming a Montanan

I grew up in the south never thinking about this place other than being "the middle of nowhere" as some like to say.  I
never once stopped to realize the sacrifices I was making when I moved here to raise my children, but what a
blessing it has been.
More.

New Projects!!
In addition to Marilyn coming on board, we're are also working on several new projects. First, we will be re-doing the
website and incorporating it in the Alternatives site and looking for story ideas on Montana, especially the early days
for the centennial celebrations. We'll be adding a monthly digital photo magazine (Sheridan County Times), plus a
quarterly published hard bound photo book. That's for starters.  If you have old photo's relative to Sheridan County, or
articles and story ideas you'd like to contribute, let us know. 406-570-3322.
