Mary was born in Coalridge, Mt. on June 14, 1917, to Jacob Menno and Beatrice (Hewitt)
Harshbarger, the second of six children. She met her husband of 34 years,  Leonard Meagher,
in South Dakota where they married in February of 1939. They started their life together while
working on a ranch; he as a cowboy and she as the cook. When Leonard was drafted into
World War II she became a single parent of two small children, staying first with in-laws and
then moving back to Coalridge with her father. During this time she took correspondence
courses to become a LPN but no one seems to think she ever took her nursing boards. After
the war she helped Leonard with a few mechanic shops and ended up waitressing and
working as an aide in a nursing home.

Her children, who love her dearly, remember her as a women with a strong constitution. She did what she thought was right no matter what.

She is survived by her children Phyllis Patricia Gonzales of Anchorage, Alaska. Leonard Dennis Meagher and his wife Donna of Seattle,
