    Ida Horning

    Ida K. Horning, 91, of Plentywood and formerly of Glendive, passed away January 11, 2009
    at Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Plentywood.  She had only recently been diagnosed with
    cancer.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Trinity
    Lutheran Church in Plentywood with Pastor Jay Reinke officiating.  Interment will be held at
    Dawson Memorial Gardens in Glendive at 2:45 in the afternoon.

    Ida was born on November 11, 1917 in Golden Valley, North Dakota, the daughter of Jacob
    and Juliana (Kraft) Kittler.  She married Frank Hajek who died in WWII on February 9, 1945.  
    She then married Sam Horning on October 5, 1946 and they resided in Glendive.  In 1991,
    Ida moved to Plentywood and lived there until her death.  For the last year and a half she
    resided at LaCasa Personal Care Center.

    Ida enjoyed fishing and boating at Deep Creek at Ft. Peck .  She loved sewing and her
    favorite pastime was playing bingo with her friends and watching Bonanza on t.v.



Her parents preceded her in death as well as her husband Sam, three brothers, Willie, Adolph and Gotthilf and three sisters, Ella Dey,
Hilda Hopkins and Alma Hrubes.

Surviving are her  sisters Agnes Nichols of Billings, Montana,  Pauline Sharbono of Fairview, Montana  and one brother Rudolph Kittler of
Brighton, Colorado; two sons, Leroy (Kathy) Horning of Thornton, Colorado, Larry (Linda) Horning of Helena, Montana; one daughter
Sherry (Terry) Willard of Plentywood, Montana.  Also surviving are her wonderful grandchildren: Darren, Shelly, Jason, Jamie and Lori and
great-grandchildren: Brandon, Tanner, Kaci and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood is in charge of arrangements.
