Blanche Loupe Funeral services for Blanche Loupe were held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 20. Pastor Ron Martin-Dent officiated at the service at Plentywood Lutheran Church; interment was in Plentywood Cemetery. Her grandchildren were casketbearers, and all of her friends were regarded as Honorary bearers. Jamie Holte and Duane and Edie Wilson served as ushers. Blanche died early Thursday morning, April 16, at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home in Plentywood; she was 95. Blanche was born December 2, 1913, in the Raymond, Montana farm home of her parents, Fred and Valdie (Stromstad) Budke. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural grade schools. She graduated from Beauty College; and was working at the Stambaugh's when she met Lawrence Loupe. They were married at Plentywood Lutheran Church February 8, 1941. They lived and farmed in the Outlook and Raymond communities, and operated a dairy farm for a time, before moving to Plentywood in 1979. Blanche maintained their home, and helped Lawrence in any way she could, both on the farm, and in his work as the Custodian of Plentywood Lutheran Church. After Lawrence died December 6, 1992, Blanche lived at home until she decided to move to LaCasa in Plentywood: she arranged a room there, then told her kids!
She was happy at LaCasa for several years before declining health forced her to the nursing home about two years ago. She was a devoted member of Plentywood Lutheran Church, and was very active in the quilting program at the church as long as her health allowed. In her younger years she belonged to the Raymond Homemaker's club.
Blanche is survived by two daughters: Barbara Getty, of Plentywood, and Donna Carlson and her husband Curtis, of Alvarado, Minnesota; and by eight grandchildren: Kevin Getty and his wife, Ooah; Corey Getty and his wife, Michelle; Kerry Getty and his wife Shannon; Casey Getty and his wife Catherine; Karla Donohue and her husband Carl; Michelle Durand, and her husband David; Lonnda Kari and her husband Rob; and Paul Carlson and his wife Heidi; as well as by 15 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Blanche was preceded in death by a sister, Venice Budke, at age 11, an infant daughter, Beverly Lorraine Loupe, who died shortly after her birth in 1952; and by her brother and his wife, Percy and Pearl Budke; her son-in-law, David Getty; and nephew, Gerald Budke.
Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood had charge of arrangements.
