He had one sister Lillian and four brothers: Lester, Vern, Earl and Bryce. Lillian died at the age of 19 in 1930. He attended grade school at the Rose Hill Country School, 1 ½ miles from home for all his 8 years walking to and from school most of the time. He graduated from Medicine Lake High School in 1947. Gordon was interested in photography and belonged to a camera club as a young man. He enjoyed traveling - one highlight being, attending the World’s Fair in New York City in 1964.
Gordon farmed the family farm until failing health forced him to give up farming and he moved with his parents into Medicine Lake in 1970. He lived all of his life in Sheridan county except for 1 ½ years he spend in Billings. After the death of both of his parents, Gordon remained in Medicine Lake until he moved to the Montana Pioneer Manor which has been his home for over 20 years.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and brothers. He is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Herdis Hancock of Billings and Doris Hancock of Plentywood and 11 nieces and nephews.
