Lucille Pohle Lucille Larter Pohle, 88, of Plentywood, passed away on February 2, 2009. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7th at Plentywood Lutheran Church in Plentywood, with interment in Plentywood Memorial Cemetery. Lucille Marjorie Larter was born March 3, 1920 at Outlook, Montana to Edward & Alma Larter. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended the Collin’s School, Outlook School and graduated from Plentywood High School. In 1939, Lucille met Andrew Pohle at Deck’s Bakery; she was a waitress and he was a baker. They were married at Comertown, Montana in 1940 with two of their coworkers, Chester Madsen and Lily Larsen. The couples witnessed for each other at their private double wedding ceremony. Andy & Lucille raised three children, Dale, Arlene, and Arlo. They lived in Plentywood their entire married lives. Andy worked at the Farmers Union as a truck driver and Lucille was a homemaker.
She was a very good homemaker, and her kitchen was the favorite room in their house as she had meals and treats for everyone. Knitting, crocheting, tatting & sewing were her some of her hobbies. She helped with Scouts, 4-H, and other activities as the family grew up; supported ball games, music festivals and community events. She was a dedicated member of her church. “Birthday Club” was one of her favorite activities, as these ladies seldom missed a party. As the years passed, she truly loved the many phone calls and visits from family and friends.
Lucille’s family always admired the group of friends that helped her make decisions. She often asked her family what they thought and then went directly to her special friends for their thoughts. She trusted their input far more than one can imagine, and the confidence and trust she had for her friends was immeasurable.
Andy and Lucille were married 51 years when he passed away in 1992. For the past three years she had been a resident of Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home.
Lucille was preceded in death by husband Andrew, parents Edward & Alma Larter of Outlook, and siblings Alice of San Francisco, and Irvin of Outlook.
She is survived by sons, Dale (Dianne) of Great Falls, and Arlo of Glasgow, daughter, Arlene (Gary) Christensen of Antelope, grandchildren, Dean (Amy) Christensen of Antelope, Lisa (Robert) Kirby of Dagmar, Patty (Nate) Achenbach of Choteau, and Karole (Dan) Callahan of Las Vegas, and great grand children, Nicole & Nick Kirby, and Collin & Tristin Achenbach, sister, Betty (Kenneth) Connor of Plano, TX, sister-in-law, Mildred Pohle of Castle Rock, WA, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood is in charge of arrangements.

I am saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. I have special memories of her from our high school days and am glad that I got to see and visit with her in 2005, when we went back for a class reunion. She was very special.

I so enjoyed visiting with Lucille when she was a resident at the Pioneer Manor. My dad was a resident there as well, and Lucille was always so good to visit with him.
I will miss seeing "Pohle" when I get to Plentywood. She was one of my mom's best friends. They are together now gabbing away. When my mom was alive and I got "home" we always went to "Pohle's" for lunch. I loved her "fluff".
