    Margaret Nelson

    Margaret Marie (Engler) Nelson, 85, passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 at Roosevelt Medical
    Center in Culbertson, Montana with her family at her side.

    She was born August 17th, 1923 in Froid, Montana to Fred and Mary Ellen Engler. She did all of her
    12 years in the Froid School. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Froid
    where she was involved in the Altar Society, and upon the closing of the Froid church, she attended
    St. Patrick’s in Medicine Lake, Montana.

    On October 13, 1943 she married Carl Nelson ... and spent 59½ years with her best friend. They
    moved to the family farm northeast of Homestead when Carl’s folks retired, where she has resided
    since.

    Margaret enjoyed bowling, farming, ranching, gardening, putting puzzles together, plastic canvas,
    sewing for her children, watching favorite TV shows: Murder She Wrote, Little House on the Prairie,
    and Matlock, along with cooking, and baking for her coffee hours with neighbors and grandchildren.
    She enjoyed many trips with her sister Marian and her husband Howard Jacobsen, to many
    different places.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, Fred and Mary Ellen Engler, daughter Yvonne, child John Carl, her
brothers Edward, Bernard, Daniel, Arthur, and Freddie; and her sisters Jeannette and Marian.

To her and Carl’s union there were three children born: Yvonne, who married Raymond Luft; their children are Stephen (Jeni) Luft, of
Butte, MT; Debbie Luft, of Butte, MT, and Rhonda (Doug) Fisher, of Columbia Falls; Kathleen (John) Rainey, of Acton, Montana, with their
children Paul (Gail) Rainey, of Havre, MT, and Toni Rainey, of Billings, MT; and Dennis, (Gwenie) Nelson on the family farm, with their
children Scott (Amber) Nelson, of the family farm, Amy Nelson, of Portland, OR; Terrance (Nichole) Rohner of Sidney, MT, Lacy (David)
Benkley, of Billings, MT, Kevin, (Kristie) Nelson, Emporia, KS, LaLynda Nelson, of Williston, ND. She is also survived by Raymond  Luft, of
Columbia Falls, MT; Dorothy Reeves, of Dalhart, TX; and Howard Jacobsen, of Williston, ND.

Funeral services  for Margaret Nelson will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 17. Father Marcel Vogel will celebrate the Funeral
Liturgy at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Medicine Lake; interment will be in Big Lake Cemetery, east of Homestead. A Vigil Rite will be
conducted at 7:00 PM Friday at St. Patrick’s Church. Bearers will be her grandchildren, Stephan Luft, Debbie Luft, Rhonda Fisher, Paul
Rainey, Tom Rainey, Scott Nelson, Amy Nelson, Terrance Rohner, Lacy Benkley, Kevin Nelson, and LaLynda Nelson.  Honorary bearers
are all her great- grandchildren: Autumn and Dalton Fisher, Tasha, Megan, Michelle, and Brianna, Rainey; Kayla Pezzarossi, Tristan,
James, Faith, and  Walker Rohner; Kyle, Maddox, and Paxton Nelson; Alexa Nelson and Eden Benkley. Margaret was also awaiting the
arrival of her first Great-great-grandchild!  Most honored bearers are Jim and Adeline Bolstad and Nancy Johnson. Ushers will be Allan
Bummer and Les Johnson.

Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood has charge of arrangements.
