Marian Anhalt
Marian Anhalt was born November 2, 1926 at Whitetail, Montana to Lawrence & Dorothy Anhalt. She
died at her Plentywood home Thursday evening, April 2, 2009. At her direction, no services will be
held; friends will scatter her cremated remains in some of her favorite places.
Marian received her bachelor's degree from the University of Montana and master's degree in library
science from the University of Minnesota.
Marian taught kindergarten in Lewistown and served as a school librarian over 20 years until poor
health force her retirement..
Marian and her friend, Nancy Snyder, traveled to many interesting places in the late 70's and early
80's including Iran, Spain, & Egypt. They were among the first American tourists to visit China in the
late 1970's. Marian loved to tell stories from these trips.
In 1988 Marian moved into her home at 788 Paul Lane and was quickly discovered by the
neighborhood kids. She always had something special to share with them and loved to read to the
children. She gifted all of them with books for birthday and Christmas.
Halloween was a favorite time for Marian. She loved to see the ghosts & goblins and was generous with her treats.
Marian loved the visits of her friends and neighbors. Saturday morning coffee with Barb and Jan and Sunday morning with Vicky and Jan
were specials times for her and she always said, "I am with my two favorite people" no matter which two it was!
Marian is survived by her long-time friend Nancy Snyder of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and by special friend Jan Blair and her children Cody
and Carson. Also surviving are special neighbors Barb & Steve Cybulski and their children, Travis, Katie and Abby, and Vicky Hjelm who
faithfully brought Marian communion every Sunday.

Remembering Marian
God be good to you Marian.
