Priscilla was born September 5, 1924 at Fingal, North Dakota, the first child of Henry and Edna
Anderson. The family moved to Montana and settled near Dooley, where she grew up and
graduated from Westby High School in 1942. She worked in Helena for the State of Montana;
and married Harold Griffin at the Dooley Lutheran church in November, 1945. After they were
divorced in 1952 she and her children, Bonnie, Terry, Julie, and Mary, moved to Plentywood.
She met and married George Kanning, a widower with 5 children, Joan, Rodney, Elaine, Karl
and Irene; on November 25, 1953, at Reserve Lutheran Church.
He later adopted her children, and together they had Corwin and Spencer. The family lived in Plentywood during the school year,
and moved to the farm south of Redstone during the summers. After George’s death June 26, 1983, Priscilla continued to make her
home in Plentywood until she entered the nursing home July 3, 2001.
She ran a very successful Shaklee products sales business out of her home , earning trips to San Francisco, New Orleans, and
Washington, DC. She loved traveling, especially to visit her children and grandchildren all over the country. Attending Hostefest with
her cousins was an annual favorite; and she was one of the founders of the local genealogy club. She and George were very active
in the Democrat party, and Priscilla served as precinct committeewoman. They were active members of Plentywood Lutheran
church making sure that all the children attended Sunday school and were confirmed.
Priscilla is survived by their children, Bonnie Harvey and her husband Wes, of Austin, Texas; Terry Kanning and his wife, Myrna, of
Plentywood; Julie Gray of Bellevue, Washington; Mary Kanning and her husband Jerry Guenther, of Great Falls; Corwin Kanning and

and Kristen Kanning.
