Scott Tetrault Memorial services in celebration of the life of Scott Tetrault were held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Those attending the services at the Union Congregational Church in Medicine Lake were encouraged to wear jeans and Tees ~ maybe with designs of Classic Trucks or Cars, Monster Trucks, or favorite football teams, and bring a favorite story about Scott! Rev. Tim Hutslar officiated at the service; private interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date. Honorary Bearers were Tim Ereth, Bryce Hancock, Chad Reuter, Russ Williams, and all of Scott's family and other friends. Ushers were Glenn and Vivian Ostby. Scott, 53, died at his Medicine Lake home Friday morning, February 27after 4 years with cancer. Scott was born at Detroit Lakes, Minnesota December 5, 1955, the son of Edward and Margaret (Sevcik) Tetrault. Scott graduated from Plentywood High School in 1975, and entered the U.S. Navy. After 7 years’ service, including 3 years aboard the Harold J. Ellison, DD864, ported at Philadelphia, and a two years shore tour at Brunswick, Maine, Scott left the navy.
An “automotive repair technician” – ok, a paint and body man! – Scott worked for Hancock Auto Body in Medicine Lake, but his off time found him working part time for Russ Williams, restoring old cars, fixing cars and trucks, restoring old cars and trucks for other people, helping kids with their bikes, restoring old cars, even building his own “high-rider” custom bike that he rode for transportation around Medicine Lake (and restoring old cars and trucks!)
Scott married Connie Carlson at the Union Congregational Church June 26, 1976; they have made their home in ’Lake since. Scott was good at carpentry, too; adding onto and fixing up their home, helping with work at the 8-Ball, and never knew the word “No” – he was eternally kindhearted and loved to work and to help out his friends any way he could. He was never sick, never missed a day of work, and seemed to be going 24-7. Monster Trucks and any football events found him mesmerized in front of the TV, and in recent years he was a major fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Scott will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Connie; two sons, Eric, of West Fargo, North Dakota; and Chad and his companion, Edie Burris, of Medicine Lake; his step-mother, Irma Tetrault, of Battle Creek, Michigan; brothers John, Tom, Ryan, and Jeff Tetrault; his father- and mother-in-law, Lloyd and June Carlson, of Medicine Lake; brothers-in-law Curt Carlson and his wife Ryan, of Yuma, Arizona and Len Hallesy and his wife Cheryl, of Elk River, Minnesota; sisters-in-law Carol Lubbers and her husband Mark, of Billings, Montana and Karen Sautter and her husband Gregg, of Missoula, Montana, as well as by his gentle four-legged constant companion, “Buddy,” grand-dog “Joker” and grand-cat, “Ranger.” Scott was preceded in death by his father and mother.
