Goldie Cybulski

Funeral services for Goldie Cybulski will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 27. Father Pat
Zabrocki will celebrate the Funeral Liturgy at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plentywood; interment
will be in Plentywood Memorial Cemetery. Wednesday morning, February 24, Goldie, who had been
a patient at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings,  was traveling home to Plentywood with her family; with
a sudden turn for the worse, they stopped at the hospital in Culbertson, where she died a short time
    later.

Goldie, the daughter of Gustav and Pauline (Klatt) Westrup,  was born July 28, 1923 on the family
farm near Antelope. She grew up there, graduated from Plentywood High School, and then married
    Raymond Cybulski in 1940.

Goldie and Ray started their life together working as depot relief agents in small towns in ND and
MT. It would be the beginning of a lifetime "partnership" with Ray. From traveling 95,000 miles on
his Gold Wing motorcycle together to attending Mass in Rome with Pope John Paul, they were true
    companions.

Goldie spent 20+ years at the ASCS office where she made many lifelong friends and fondly referred to her customers as "her" farmers.
Later on, Goldie looked forward to bridge with the "girls" and always found a few quarters for the machines.

After Goldie's "retirement" her life's work really began. She spent endless hours on "Goldie's Gold" –  old jewelry she restored. Stopping
by Goldie and Ray's house you'd see the two of them at the table, TV on, and both of them working on a "project". Goldie could repair
anything, often teasing that she taught Ray everything he knew about restoring antiques. He'd tease back that her motto was to "Buy
high, sell low and make it up in volume".  In truth, one couldn't have done it without the other.

Goldie and her daughter Cindy worked side by side for 27 years in the antique business, each of them claiming the other one was the
"boss". When the three of them refinished a piece of furniture together, it was always better and more beautiful than the original.

Goldie thought the world of her daughters and was very close to all her grandchildren. Anyone can call herself a grandma, but she was
"Goldie" to everyone, including her family,  and her "10 Golden Rules" were golden words to live by. Ray referred to Goldie as his
"partner" and she lovingly was. He would say "you're unique to me".  She truly was ... to all of us.

Goldie is survived by her four loving daughters: Nadene & Roy Maier of Vancouver, WA and her children Stephen Kranz of Washington,
DC, Michael & Lori Kranz (Cody, Dennis & Evan) of Rogers, AR and Paula & Scott Broadwell (Lucien & Landon) of Charlotte, NC;
Daughter Marilynn Nelson of Boise, Idaho and her children Todd & Tracy  Sundsted (Samantha & Katherine), of both Hoover, Alabama
and New York City;  and Tanya & Stephen Doubleday (Eloise & Ingrid), of Portland, Oregon. Daughter Cindy and Dennis Nielsen of
Plentywood and their children Chrissy & Jason Strand (Michael & Jamie, Charis and Emma Nielsen, Lauren & Allie Strand), Karen
Sticka (Maggie) all of Plentywood and Lindsey & DeeAnn Nielsen (Johnathan, Brennan, & Addie) of Billings; and by her youngest
daughter Tammy West of Boise, ID. Goldie is also survived by her sisters Violet Bartnes and Mildred Schmidt, nieces & nephews and
many of Ray's family. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond J. Cybulski, her infant son Richard, her mother Pauline Lee
and father Gus Westrup, her sister Freda Johnson, her brother William Westrup and her son-in-law C.W.  “Bill” Nelson.

Fulkerson Funeral Home of Plentywood has charge of arrangements.
